1 Most Beloved People to Allah صفاتهم الذين يحبهم هللا تعالى Surah Al-e-Imran #31 Say (O Muhammad - to the people) now = people reading the Quran There is a condition mentioned here If you love Allah then you need to follow me (Prophet Muhammad ) 2 Results: o Allah will love you o Allah will forgive you your sins Everyone says I love Allah no one has an issue in that But people differ in the second condition to follow the Prophet Verily Allah is oft-forgiving and most Merciful Here it shows that there is no other way you need to follow the Sunnah you need to follow Prophet Muhammad Allah has connected it with His love as a condition so it is essential (in a way obligatory) to follow Prophet Muhammad Faith/testimony has 2 parts اشهد ان ال اله اال هللا محمد رسول هللا o المتبعون لرسول هللا صلى هللا عليه و سلم o I testify that there is no god but Allah AND that Prophet Muhammad is His messenger It is a very important matter because Allah connected HIS LOVE to Prophet Muhammad 1

2 THE WAY TO FOLLOW PROPHET MUHAMMAD Walking on/following the path of the Prophet Following without any questions, without any debates, without thinking about logic, without any excuse, without thinking about the wisdom We need to follow him (blindly) don t follow anyone else blindly! We need to act how he used to act in certain situations how he used to behave In all matters of worship + In all matters of life (ways of life) WHY? because he never did anything in his life unless it was revelation from Allah (divine) Our goal is to worship Allah so we follow the way of the Prophet There are 2 conditions for accepted good deeds o for the sake of Allah o following Prophet Muhammad WHAT DO WE FOLLOW THE PROPHET IN? What do we follow him in? 2 kind of worship Obligatory & Recommended واجب We have obligatory acts of worship o For these acts we HAVE to follow his way o It is compulsory o We need to follow him completely in those actions We need to follow him in obligations 5 times prayer, Ramadan fasts, Hajj,. ********************************** مستحب For the recommended acts Duha prayer, fast on 9 DhulHijjah, how he slept, Tahajjud prayer, how he ate, what dua he said when he left his house, etc its recommended to follow him in all these acts (way of life) Not compulsory but recommended The more you try to follow him the more your rank with Allah is raised o The more you apply the Sunnah acts in your daily routine o The more Allah will love you! In order to follow him correctly you need knowledge of what he did so you follow what he did and then Allah will love you 2

3 If you want Allah s love you follow the Prophet if you follow him then you cannot be the one who innovates or creates something new because you are already just following! When you invent in religion it s as if you don t love the Prophet o Types of worship / sacrifice / fasts / dhikr, etc Those people are invent/create acts/ways of worship in a way Prophet Muhammad never did If something Prophet Muhammad did not do we should not do No one can do more in religion than what he has done Don t do anything unless you are sure he did it also Little deeds that are 100% following the Prophet is more beloved to Allah than doing so many acts of worship but those are following this sheikh and that scholar (leaving the Sunnah) Knowing that Allah loves us in return is an encouragement that we should strictly follow the Sunnah (Allah s love + forgiveness of sins) If you follow bida you engage in acts of worship that are not clear leaving the Sunnah which is very clear! Hadith any act / deed that one will do that Prophet Muhammad did not do will not be accepted (will be rejected) Following the Sunnah will be sufficient for us - we should be satisfied with it People are not satisfied with the sunnah so they create more duas read certain surahs at certain times in life all that which the Prophet never did Imagine we take effort to do acts of worship and then you will find out it s not been accepted = WHAT A WASTE!?!?! Follow the way of the Prophet at least you get the reward (دنيا) o Reward of the Life (آخرة) o Reward of the Hereafter When you follow the Sunnah Allah will make your life easy for you and love you and forgive your sins When you follow the Bida your life will become complicated and you will not be among those Allah loves Person initiating a new act or worship is like as if he thinks he is a messenger / or knows better than Prophet Muhammad 3

4 Another Hadith every act of innovation is midguidance (every misguidance is in Hell fire) Misfguidance = then you will never reach your target (Paradise) (صراط المستيم You will be misguided on the way (not being on You need to obey Allah + the Prophet the و shows both these obedience are compulsory they need to be together one is not enough There are people/groups who just follow the Quran they don t follow the Sunnah Allah says in this verse those who don t obey both of them (Allah + Prophet ) they are like the disbelievers and Allah does not love the disbelievers! Its opposite of the previous verse Shaitaan encourages people to innovate and spread in religion Because it s a matter of religion extra prayer, extra dhikr so people don t take it wrong Sins leave guilt but bida (innovations) do not leave guilt so they are difficult to leave / repent It s not an easy matter may Allah protect us from all bida Cannot follow anyone in the way of eating, sleeping, talking, maintain ties, celebrating events in life Eid, Marriage, etc o Only follow the way of the Prophet 4

5 لعلكم" Dhul Hijjah FRUITS / MERITS OF FOLLOWING THE PROPHET محبة هللا تعالى Allah will love you الهداية آخرة + دنيا Guidance in o To have a knowledge and act upon it الرحمة الخاصة Special mercy from Allah o It s a special provision from Allah - make your life smooth & easy - No difficulties in life ترحمون" o الفالح You will get the success o People who struggle in life and get the success in the Hereafter الفوز العظيم They will be amount the winners great reward مرافقة الذين انعم هللا عليهم accompany those people on whom Allah has bestowed His blessings o They will accompany the Prophets, Messengers, the martyrs, the Truthful ones, the righteous people دخول الجنة Entry into Paradise o Allah knows His creation humans want to be loved o So Allah has stated the encouragement in the Quran what should we do in order to attain this love from Allah These are Allah s guarantee to the one who follows the Prophet!! 5
